Are you having flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, nightmares or experiencing triggers that take you back to a traumatic event? Or do you have a phobia that is affecting your daily life? If so then there are a number of ways that I can work with you to address these memories.

EMDR Therapy

I am an EMDR therapist and am able to treat trauma and general life issues which can also be treated using this approach. Please get in touch to find out more about this.

Rewind Trauma Therapy

I am trained by Dr Muss, the founder of Rewind Trauma Therapy and am listed on The International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT) website as an approved practitioner, having proven and met competencies in this field. Rewind can be used for single traumatic events or multiple traumas. It can work for traumatic experiences like:

The Rewind process uses the imagination to process memories so that they are no longer triggering, and it has an estimated 90% success rate with trials recently receiving great success at Cardiff university.

Flash Therapy

If you find that your memories are highly distressing, flash therapy is a treatment that involves ensuring that you feel no distress when processing memories/flashbacks. In fact, key to this type of trauma-processing is that you as the client feel as calm and non-triggered as possible. Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more.

Dream Therapy

The power of the imagination cannot be underestimated! I can guide you through the dream state to be with and change events in the past so that they can have a positive impact on how you live in the present.

I believe that it is important to respect the messages that dreams bring, and to address nightmares so that they can be resolved. As well as working with nocturnal dreams, I am able to support you in using the daytime dreamscape to address stuck patterns and bring about shifts which can impact positively in your daily life.

I have trained with Leslie Ellis, an expert in dream therapy and the writer of A Clinician's Guide to Dream Therapy.

Trauma-informed practice

It is often thought that clients should experience a catharsis in order to heal from the wounds of the past, but you won't find this happening in our sessions. At the heart of trauma-informed therapy is the importance of safety and ensuring that you as the client take each step slowly so that your nervous system does not get triggered while you are processing what wants to be explored and processed. I am committed to making the journey as safe and as supportive as possible. I am trained in trauma-informed practice and this approach is in all of my work.
